Get out and walk around with the camera. I know you all have noticed that I have had my share of the Shack Nasties this year. Well yesterday I took my own advice. Did a little fishing and a little hiking. Did me a lot of good too. Hopefully these photographs will help those of you who cannot get out as well as those of you that can.
You can almost smell the pine needles in this one:
There under the bridge are the fading rings of a trout rise:
Trout in the stream:
Don’t adjust your monitor. Black and White of fungus on a tree:
Well folks I hope to inspire you to get outdoors. Even in the worst weather it will do you some good. I hope the photos may easy any Shack Nasties that anyone is feeling. As usual any photos I post here are free for you to do with as you please.
That is an empty shot shell in the stream. I did not have my waders so I did not take the plunge to retrieve it. There is duck and small game hunting in this part of the park.
I put this one in another post but will put it here as well. My only landed catch of the day was released unharmed back into the lake:
Sorry about the quality of that last one as the DSLR was in the car. Had to use my cell phone.
Yup! I went out and tilled soil, put tomato seeds, pepper seeds, cauliflower and broccoli seeds in the hot bed. I have it bad. Also ready to plant my potatoes.
Beautiful pics Eric…and you’re right, I can almost smell the pine needles. Weather permitting, I’m heading out to do some mountain biking on Sunday, so I’ll get the smell first hand…can’t wait. Fishing will be soon
Hey folks,
Thanks for the responses. I was hoping to make someone’s day a little brighter and I am glad I was able to do that. I went for my walk tonight and should have taken the camera. There are birds everywhere. We also have the crocuses, tulips and daffodils poking their heads up through the ground. The grass is greening up and the buds are getting fat too.
We also have some very vigorous hatches going on right now! Stone flies, midges and mayflies everywhere!
Once again thanks for taking the time to respond. It’s great to be alive. Everyone should take the time to slow down a bit to observe nature’s beauty that is all around us. come on folks and take a little stroll. It will do you good.
I have a weekend full of riding planned, as well. Road on Saturday morning, mountain all day Sunday. Going to head out to the stream on Saturday as well.
It’s impossible to have a bad day when new life is sprouting up all around you. Great pictures, Nighthawk. I have to admit, your pictures aren’t helping how excited I am about the forthcoming warm weather.
