Cumberland River Trout??

Who can lay some good info on me about the Cumberland River and its trout?

What guide service to use ( float fishing) and I need a good campground “near” to park my motorhome.

If its like a lot of tail water fisheries it should be pretty decent fishing for the wife and I but all I know about it basically is “duhhhh”…

P.S. Its for use in 2010

Not a nibble huh??

I didn’t read any of it, but this might help;

I checked them out…thanks.

I sure thought Id get more of a response to Cumberland trout fishing?? Maybe there isnt a lot of guys fishing there??

Go to www.littleriveroutfitters.com and post your question. There are a few guys on their forum who fish the Cumberland on a regular basis.

Ian at R&R treated me well as a guide when I was in the Smokey Mountains.

Mucho thanks “neighbor”

The best guide on the river is Chris Scalley:

However … I talked to Chris yesterday, and he said he did not run any trips on the Cumberland this year because the river was in such bad shape. He said he was going back in a few weeks to fish it himself and see if there have been any improvements.

Good luck. It can be a great river.

What part of the Cumberland are you interested in?

I fish the part of the Cumberland that runs into Lake Cumberland, in Eastern Kentucky. There are huge trout in the tailwaters both at the inlet to the Lake, and the outlet at Wolf Creek Dam.

Access is very limited, but I think that’s a goods thing, because it keeps the fishing pressure low. There are good populations of trophy-sized rainbows and browns here.

I usually put in at Burkesville, KY, near the tailwaters.

I know someone who is a guide on the Cumberland, although I have never used him (I have never been on a guided trip in my entire life). His name is Ken Glenn, and his website is http://kenglenntroutguiding.home.att.net/.

I hope this helps.

happy fishing.

Thanks for the info…and YES thats one of the areas and even the town I hunted up. I found a campground very close by to park our RV in.
