created a monster

Well I went and done it. One of our foster boys, who has never fly fishd, and has no parents has now been out twice with me. First trip we used Bamboo of course and the second I let him use my HI glass. Yes glass, but its an older one and is a sweet caster. Hes been having a total blast. I had an older South Bend composite which isnt too bad a caster but its only 6ft. Bamboo Mike has an older HI glass for 25.00. He is now trying to earn the money to get it  I TOLD YA-A MONSTER!!! Its been just as much fun for me as him. Next trip out Ill try and get some pics of a new fly flinger

Way to go Clyde!
You forgot to mention that the most important thing you gave him was your time. Good for you!!!
Mike

I second that. Way to go, Clyde! Nothing better for a kid than time on the water with somebody to teach them a thing or three. Earning his own money for his first rod. Good for that youngster, too.

goood job

Clyde,
That kid is so fortunate to have you! You are going to be a positive influence and he will be a better person for it.
God Bless You!
Doug

I would like to shake your hand, Sir! The blessings you have bestowed upon this young man will be returned to you many times over. You are of the finest character and I salute you!

has he started to tie fly’s yet? il look fwd to a photo

Clyde, if it would suit your purposes I have a nice 5/6 graphite Mitchell 2-piece that I would gladly send to your young man. It is all but new, an inexpensive rod, but it looks lovely and it casts very nicely. Let me know and I will sent it your way with great pleasure. If your boy ever decides to tie then he could send me a fly some day.
Paul

Gardenfish, Sent you a PM but Im covering all bases. That is a big yes. You have made a young mans whole year and for that sir I thank and salute you. We were just up there today, but can run down tomorrow after Church if agreeable. Then he can give her a break in. From he and I thank you again. Clyde

Perfect!

2 thumbs up from here in Va. Time, it’s a wonderful gift, we never know how much we have…

Mr. Holmes,

Thank you very much for sharing your thread

You did not give that young man joy; you showed him joy. Now he will always know where to find it and for that you will always be held in this young man?s life and can only be rewarded by God.

Thanks again,
Sean
