Any one ever hear of a Cortland FR-2000? Looks like an older version of a glass rod maybe?

Heard of them. They are fiberglass. Seen a few 7? ft ones for sale on e-bay.

Nothing wrong with a fiber-glass fly rod, I own one, and like it.
Traditionally, fiber-glass fly rods mimic the characteristics of a split-cane fly rod, and weight about the same as a split-cane fly rod. They both cast very much similar to each other also.
I also own a Split-Cane Fly Rod in the same weight and lenght as the Fiber-glass rod. The only difference is that the Split-cane is a 3 peice, while the Fiber-glass is a 2 piece rod.

I’ve had a couple of them. They are nice casting rods if you like glass as I do.

These guys eat live and breath fishing fiberglass fly rods. Also when I get home this evening I’ll look in Johnson’s book to see if I can find anything on your rod in there.
Thanks folks for the info. I found this rod in the back of a rack at an old fly shop. Just wondering what it was before I buy it. Theres two or three there for a reasonable price too. Might have to buy and “start” 'em all. LOL
