This is a pattern some of the local guys really like, it is called a Copperhead Nymph, although the only copper in the rib, I didn’t name it so I don’t know why, I would have called it the goldfinger nymph. I plan to tie a few this week and will test them this weekend the good Lord willing. I thought some of you troutholics would probably appreciate it. FYI, the back is 5 or 6 strands of tinsel.
The original pattern calls for a copper bead.

If you are going to be using it up near the dam, go to a size 16. For some strange reason, that size seems to work best.

There are some lingering after-effects of the surgery that only time will heal. There is no pain and the cancer was confined to the prostate. Heading to Penna. later this week and will finally get some fishing in after an almost a 4 month hiatus.
Something very similar has been resident in my box for about 20 years now. The only difference is hare’s ear dubbing in place of the peacock for the thorax. Its been a reliable performer for me.

Rib: Hot Yellow wire.
