No purple cabbage today. Am steaming asparagus and have a nice cheese sauce for it.

Here I am thinking about what to fix for supper and open the page to find your “Cooking Again Today” plate staring me in the face. It’s all your fault that my monitor has some bite marks on it now! You should be flogged with a 5 wt. at least. And, to add insult to injury you had to mention asparagus with a cheese sauce. Have you no mercy - man? Oh the horror of it all.

P.S. Am also sending you the dentist bill for repair to my teeth caused by the monitor biting!:wink:

You’ll laugh but, as a kid, my Grandmother would steam asparagus & we would douse it with vinegar. It’s really good that way, but don’t drown it!

I was just thinking about heading down to Bavaria Sausage tomorrow to get some Kinder Eggs for Easter. Perhaps I should get some spaetzle and sausages while I’m there. Sure looks good Len.

according to my mom, asparagus is really good when you wait until the plants just get about an inch above ground, and then

stomp the barstids back into the hell which spawned them. NEVER ate asparagus at my house. Now that I am old enough to have a family of my own, and have tried it…I LOVE MY MOTHER EVEN MORE!! (Although I will never forgive her for all those years of Brussels Sprouts and Cauliflower. shudders violently)
