Contest: entries for cleanest tying station

Hi Scott,

Extremely impressive. My only concern is that my wife might walk in and see the pictures of your bench. I could be in very serious trouble. I need to remember to have one of the other pictures pulled up if I leave the computer on FAOL.

Reminds me of Fred Bridge on another site several years ago. If anything his tying bench may have been even neater than yours. You and Fred must be two extremely organized guys.

Fred is a super good guy, but I had the same exact fear, that my wife might see a picture of his bench, and then I would be in even bigger trouble than normal. Fred used moonlight as a comercial tyer and developed some fairly well known flies.

At any rate, your get my vote for cleanist tying staion.

Regards,

Gandolf

Gandolf, Now that the pics are up, I can mess up, no wait I can’t do it. Anyway, just make sure you have something up that might peak her interest like a trip to a nice location that just happens to also have great fishing in the warm tropical air. Hopefully I don’t get you in trouble. I’d like to meet this Fred guy and see his desk, maybe I could learn something. Under my workbench are four large tupperware containers full of supplies that were just given to me by an old timer up the road. He sells produce which I buy religously because I believe in buying local. Anyway, we got to talking and we found out we both like to fly fish and because of his produce farm, he no longer has time to go out. He has just started digging out his old stuff and will have a vise, more materials, rods and reels and for Christmas I gave him a nice wall hanger. It was a South Bend 259 8’6" 3/2 Bamboo rod in perfect shape which he loved. Thanks for your vote.

So what is the prize? Is there an item or just bragging rights? I don’t recall reading about anything.

There may be a prize. There may not. But, don’t count your chickens till they hatch

Here is my table. I promise i dont tie upside down, i don’t know why that happend.

Law traveler?

mva…you ought to rotate that…looks like a potential winner but you might be disqualified:wink:

There is no wonder that it is clean, everything dumped on the floor lol lol We MUST get a ruling on this !! ha ha ha

Byron good eye, it is the LAW traveler. I will rotate when I get home sent the picture from my iPhone and it rotated it some how. I have to do it from my computer.

Talk about defying gravity. Looks like a work area I could be proud of. As my old boss used to say, " A clean shop is a happy shop" that also applies to work areas and tying desks. Nice going, now flip that over so , I can enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

It almost looks like the Orvis fly tying desk but without the trout pulls

Thats better. Its not the orvis tying desk, it was built by the owner of West Branch Angler in the Catskills who is friend of mine. It keeps me pretty organized. i keep all of my hackle and other big feathers in big plastic bins underneath.

At this point, you are going to give me a run for my money. Very nice

You want a clean desk? Here you go…

Brad

Brad,
How can you stand to use that for tying. I think the thread spools are not quite arranged by color. That would drive me crazy.

Byron, did you mean to post the above on this thread? I think they are all a bunch of liars who cleaned up their bench for the photo!

I just want to know how much Brad had to pay better half to win this ?? lol lol

And did you notice how crooked the vise base is sitting there…as is that block of wood …the one with the messy tools in it? In fact what are they doing there anyway???

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL Brad

Alright…full disclosure…this picture was taken 5 minutes ago…

Everyone feel better now??:stuck_out_tongue:
