Rick;
The man is amazing!! When he found out I had a Dremel tool he sent me this Humungous box of foam that will take a lifetime to use up!! One of the most sharing guys here. I, as we all do, wish him well with his up coming surgery. And then we should go down there and fish with him!!
Wow, what a nice posting to find.G Alas, an
explanation is in order on the magazine article. I
had another fly, my “Nymphomie” published in the
magazine over 3 years ago. At that time, Al Beatty
asked if I had another I could supply for later that
year. I provided my “Shad Slider” which continued to
evolve into my “Jelly Bean” pattern.G After over
two years it had not been published and I did the
Jelly Bean as a Fly of the Week here on FAOL. Then
after a total of about 3 years, the Shad slider turns
up in the magazine.G But with another fly pictured
other than my shad slider and a different description
for making.G I’m totally confused but someone out
there is seeing their fly pictured with my name and
they are probably mad at me.G
Jack, I appreciate the kind words, however you failed
to mention the packages you have sent me and many
others here on FAOL.G I have had a ball with all
of the punch yarn you sent me. Warm regards, Jim
congrats Jim can’t wait to tie a couple up

Hey MR Hatch I just read your peice on the dremel lathe and I plan On making one this weekend. I have been doing mine in a much more crude way for years. It works but I like yours much better. I’ll let you know how it works out. Hope your surgery goes will.
Hey Rick,
Thank you kindly. By the way, Mr. Hatch was my Dad.
I’m just Jim.G If you have any problems at all
picking up the new methods, don’t hesitate to email
me direct. Always happy to help. Warm regards, Jim
Jim it was your father that made the lathe? or you?. And you said was your dad. I hope it was just a poor choise of words if not I’m sorry for your loss. As for the lathe It is almost done I just need two clamps and attach them and it is done.
Carp;
What Jim is saying, as I do also, we are an informal bunch here and go by first names. No need to say Mr., Mrs, Miss, etc to any of us. This is a very close family here of which you are a member. Pull up a chair and enjoy the campfire while we all tell tales!
Sorry just my GA manners kikin in
Hi Rick,
As Jack said, it’s an informal site. And even
though my body show’s it’s age, my heart is young.G
My Dad left us a couple of decades ago. He was a fine man who treated everyone he met as a friend and
loved catching bream on a flyrod more than life
itself.G Two things that I’ve held in my heart and
share with him to this day.G Warm regards, Jim
I undertsand just how you feel. I finishe the lathe today and have already produced a bunch of boppers with it. Talk about awsome. If I can figure out how to post pics of it i will.
