Wanted, new colored condoms for tying the Vladi worm. Latex gloves will work. But I like the thinness of condom material for a colored worm. I have tried other material and not too happy. I mainly want pink or Hot Pink condoms for tying flies. I was shell shocked when I went to town to buy some. Seems the only colored ones were $18.95 and several colors. I only wanted one color.
So…anywhoooo…iffen someone knows of a supply where I could get some cheap it would be appreciated.

Ok but I think your pattern should be submitted for FOTM. And if not at least post up the direction and pattern once your materials arrive. I have heard of this particular material being used before in the glow in the dark variety.

I felt compelled to delete the message I had posted here. It was just an effort to state the fly works…and how to tie it…so anyone could tie it. But second thoughts icw friends I consulted with on this fly…I had to remove the comments. Just in respect to my friends.
flyhbugpa introuduced me to the fly, sent me some I caught fish on, gave me the website for tying instructions, and even sent me the material to tie it with…including the hooks. Bugman helped me tie it in one of his lessons.
I just put my twist on it and the fly turned out to be ok.
Iffen anyone cares that much about it…I can provide the info on how I tied it…my way…and my friend can probably post it as a FOTW.
Or, I guest I could just take a pic and post it in a thread. But I didn’t want to show dis-respect for my good friends. So I felt compelled to eliminate all the info I had put in this message.

Yep it’s late the local watering hole has closed and I have no need for a “pinky” tonight. But they are quality and I would not waste one on a fly. lol

Has anyone had problems with a wife or girlfriend doubting you are buying condoms to tie flies? I’m not sure this would go over well here, but the fly sure is realistic!
Is there such a thing as a scented or flavored condom? Would that be considered as using BAIT? he he he
I’d seen fly-tying instructions for these Vladi nymphs. They DO look like fish-catchers, don’t they? And yet my eyebrows still went up with a smile when I saw the title of this post. I don’t have to “grow up” just yet, do I?

Years ago there were directions for stocking a pocket survival kit. most was the usual stuff fish hooks line, band aids. this one added 2 non-lubricated condoms and some kugerands. the theory being at in an emergency each condom holds over 1 gal of water. the gold was there to bribe people. but in a real emergency the kugerands and condoms could be used together…
