I had a cheap computer chair for 10 yrs and it did a good job for me. I recently went to Office Depot because they or another computer store had a chair in the ads for $99.00 regular $179.00.
I looked at the chairs, sat in the chairs and the only chair that impressed me was a very nice retro look leather computer desk chair, $50.00 off for $250.00
I can tell you this, I feel like a Executive every time I sit in my new fancy chair, except I don’t have any employees to send memos to!
I want to recommend to anyone, especially people over 50 like me with tired bones, to BUY A NICE LEATHER CHAIR as fast as you can. It actually has helped my self esteem!
My butt has never felt so good!
Doug
Did you just send me a memo?
Cheers,
MontanaMoose
I believed you were BC’d as I was CC.
You didn’t get my MEMO???
Attn; THERE WILL BE NO MORE MEETINGS! EVER!
NO DONUTS, NO FRUIT. NO MORE SEMINARS.
For 27 yrs I had to go to those D— meetings that bored me to tears. Meetings were developed to torture employees. What did we get out of it?
A Banana!
It all added up to a ridiculous waste of time because the meetings came down from Headquarters.
Our management didn’t care and we didn’t care.
But HEY! those bananas were SWELL!
I am thankful I didn’t have to work in a office or outside.
It would have been nice if my boss had known how to do my job. One day he came into our section and luckily I was watching him. He was at the Mold Rack fiddling with a mold and he almost dropped it on his foot (60 pounds)I hurried over and caught it before it hit him.
I stayed on graveyard all those yrs because I felt that the management did a much better job of helping me when they were home in bed.
It sure is fun to rant!
Doug
 DShock that the first time I ever heard calling your back side, your self esteem.
Ghost
I can’t believe I placed my rear that close to my self esteem!
Doug
Dear DShock,
You have a computer chair, and it’s leather? You must me one of those “mover’s and shaker’s” I hear about?
I just sit on an overturned spackle bucket with a boat cushion on top and it works just fine.
Best Wishes,
Avalon
Avalon,
I spent most of my life moving and shaking!
Now I’m going to rest on my laurels!
Have you seen those Tempur Pedic Mattresses???
You might get them to sew you a custom cushion for your spackle bucket!
You only have ONE rear end, you better take care of it!
Doug
Wednesday…guessing not…since it looks like the company has disolved…
Take the rest of the week off Doug !
Cheers,
MontanaMoose
With Pay???
Doug
Duece & a half for you good buddy !
Cheers,
MontanaMoose
Your giving me a WW2 Army Truck?
Thanks,
Doug
Only because that’s what it would take to haul the double time and a half rate at your last hourly wage good buddy… !
Cheers,
MontanaMoose
MontanaMoose,
My shift differential wasn’t a big deal, but my 68 hours a week was.
Since were talking like Smokey and the Bandit, remember what Jackie Gleason (Sheriff Buford T. Justice)said to his stupid son???
“When I get HOME! I’m going PUNCH your MOMMA right in the MOUTH!, there is NO WAY you came from my LOINS!!!”
Doug
I barely remember the movie except for what’s her name but I do remember that line !
68 hours a week would have been nice…I was mostly self employed and I once had seven months of 80+ hour weeks without a day off. But it was ok because all during trout season I could go every evening or have someone watch the store and go midday.
Cheers,
MontanaMoose
I don’t know about you, but coming down from those hours (not working anymore) went against my grain. I played hard, worked hard and slept little. Basically neglected my health.
I’m proud of my effort at work and I’m thankful to still be alive.
Now I take my health seriously and I’ve learned that volunteering is much more rewarding.
Doug
I bet we’re not the only boomers to have lived that exact same lifestyle. I tried and tried to not work so much but greed is an insidious mistress. I did manage to watch my health fairly well. Quit doing some things I knew weren’t at all compatible with the hours I was keeping. Sleep deprivation was normal to me and that went on for many years. To this day I’m not able to sleep until I’m really tired.
On the bright side, I’m semi-retired and managed that by the time I was 54. Target retirement was 45 but again greed driven by self inflicted bills kicked in. Looking back I think I’d rather have had the time to myself than the headaches of the blood money.
I volunteer too and stats say that’s healthy. When I retired I got lazy for a couple of years, snapped out of it and began doing more. New things are very important it seems. I need to fish more though.
Cheers,
MontanaMoose
