colorado warmwater ??????

ok i have recently moved to colorado…near canon city(yeah , i know about the brownies) but am looking for sites an connections to all the good warm water (i know about pueblo) i am up near guffey way in the woods ,so i am already aware or the drive …but sound off …;)please???

I don’t have much to contribute, being a coldwater fan, mostly, but…

Totten Reservoir near Cortez (SW corner of the state) has bass, pike, and carp.

Narraguinnep Reservoir just northwest of that has pike and walleye (the walleye are recent plants, might take another year of growing).

McPhee Reservoir outside of Dolores has a smallie population, so I hear.

Joe Moore Res above Mancos (east of Cortez) has bass, crappie, perch, and trout, and is a great spring flyfishing tooning lake (IMO).

There are a couple more around there with warmwater fish as well (Summit, Puett).

Crawford Reservoir (Delta County) has pike and crappie in it. Catfish as well, likely bass but I have yet to catch any. And rainbow trout.

I would check out the DOW website and see what info they have. There is a Bass Pro in Denver you could call as well. Suspect there are countless waters out on the plains they know about.

Enjoy.

Both Pueblo Reservoir and Lake DeWeese (Westcliffe) have warm water species. Pueblo Reservoir has walleye, bass and i think some pike. DeWeese has bass mostly but some walleye and a few pike.
