I live in Tennessee near the Clinch river by Hwy 61. The water has been flowing here alot lately and I am wondering where you can go when they start running 2 or more generators to where you can’t wade in the river any longer. Is there even such a place low enough to wade in or am I going to have to get a boat to do any fishing. Also If I use a boat where would be the best place to fish the Clinch river. I am hoping someone who fishes the river here can help me with this. Thanks God Bless Roger.
I would NOT recommend wading that river at all when any generators are on. It is a very dangerous one in my limited experience. I hope you get the answers you are looking for from more experienced Tennessee anglers. I can say, it’s a great tailrace and I wish I had more chances to fish it. You might ask this question over at www.southeastflyfishingforum.com. You’ll probably get more response there from more locals.
Thank you for your help. I will go to the address you gave me and see if there is anyone else that might have an answer. As far as I know there is only about a 23 mile area of the Clinch River that you can fish for trout anyway. I’m hoping to find more. Thanks again.
