Clark's creek caddis emerger/pupa

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has any info on a EZ caddis emerger pattern. I would like to try it on Clark’s Creek Pa.

Here’s a link to Mike Lawson’s EZ caddis: http://www.danica.com/flytier/jwoolacott/ez_caddis_green.htm[/url:d40b8]

Hope this helps.

Regards,
ScottP

Consider an X-Caddis also. I was there the other night with my son (8 years old). Had a few with the fly in thier mouth but he doesnt have the hook set completely figured out yet

ScottP, is that an emerger?

I think Lawson’s EZ caddis is more of a flat water (spring creek) pattern, not so much an emerger. For emergers, I like Iris caddis, X-Caddis (already mentioned), and LaFontaine Emergent caddis.

ScottP,
have any pictures or links?

Here’s a good one - Virtual Flybox caddis swap: http://www.virtualflybox.com/swaps/swap.php?id=42[/url:f4dca]
Lots of good patterns to try. I’d also suggest buying a copy of Tying Emergers (Leeson & Schollmeyer) - great book.

For a Caddis Emerger, you could alway do a Elk Hair Caddis, and delete the ribbing. That way the body would be below the water surface with the elk hair resting on the the water surface.
