Cindberg SBS

A Catskill pattern from the 30’s, devised by Dr. Bernard Cindberg.

hook ? Dai Riki 320 #12
thread - MFC 8/0 sand
tail - ginger hackle fibers/wood duck flank
abdomen - dubbing light Cahill
hackle - ginger/wood duck flank

Part 1

mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark; wrap to point above barb and make a small thread bump

strip some hackle fibers, stack, measure (shank length); tie in/trim

tie some wood duck flank on top; finish thread about 1 eye width back from eye

trim out center from a woodduck flank feather; measure (hook length), tie in with a couple soft loops, allowing fibers to encircle shank, tips facing forward, trim butts

Part 2

dub thread, dub body to 2/3 mark

tie in hackle; wrap, tie off/trim

push the woodduck back, grasp with fingers and create thread dam, pushing it into the hackle

half hitch x 2, SHHAN
