Beats me.
I can’t even find a picture of one on the web. Where did you hear about it? Are you sure this is the correct spelling? I tried a few variations of spelling with no results.
I’ll try again later.

Very sorry about my spelling.
I misspelled the name of the fly. It is spelled Chironocone. I left out the “i”.
I believe it can be either a bead-head midge or Baetis, depending on size and color.
No pattern -but here is a picture from Feathercraft’s catalog:

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but I have tied this one and used it with good results. John

I wish you all everlasting flies and tight lines.
Bob,
See the book “Tying Small Flies” by Ed Engle, ISBN 0-8117-0082-8, published by Stackpole Books. In the book are many tying instructions for “chironocne”.

Master Chief,
Thanks for the suggestion as I had forgoten I have Engle’s book, “Tying Small Flies.”
However, I could not find any reference for the Chironocone in his book after going thru it twice this morning. Do you have a page number?
