I’m heading home to Washington State from Missouri to fish Chopaka Lake in North Central Washington State in Okanagan County. I’ve been researching flys to tie and [FONT=Arial Narrow]Terry W. Sheely Publisher of Washington State Fishing Guide & Pacific Northwest Seafood Cookery reports that you shouldn’t be caught with out the Chopaka May Fly.[/FONT]

The Chopaka May is a Callibaetis imitation.

From Flies of the Northwest

Hook: #14 - 18 dry fly
Thread: Gray 6/0
Tail: Moose body hair
Body: Gray polypropylene
Wing: Single bunch upright deer hair
Hackle: Dun, clipped flat on the bottom (looks about even with the point of the hook)
