Happy New Year from Canada!

Kind of an odd question, but do any of you folks know of or heard of a pattern that calls for Chinchilla hair?

We all use a multitude variety of hair in our craft, but this one has got me wondering.

Reason for asking, is that a friend of a Chinchilla Furrier supplied me with a few dozen tails once she found out I was a fly tyer. Now I have way more than I’ll likely use unless I can find a pattern or better yet…create one of my own.

Any help/comment would be greatly appreciated.

Can you make Zonker strips out of tails for buggers?

My brother in law had 2 and there’s more hair than tail in their tail. You MIGHT get luck and get 2 strips VERY short from the tail IF it’s been tanned. Other wise cut the hair off and tie with that.
