CHFF Summer Fly Tying Sessions

http://www.chff.us Charlotte Harbor Fly Fishers club has summer fly tying meetings where those that usually get lost in the crowd in the fall, winter & spring can get to know some of the fellow members fly fishing backgrounds on a more personal level & participate in hands on instruction for tying flies where if you don’t have the right thread there’s some to borrow, or if you can’t tie a half-hitch you’ll be guided thru the process. Wednesday we discussed a number of tarpon flies & tied a 5" EP for the middle of the harbor:

These were some of the the snook on the beach flies we discussed at the July meeting, even if we only tied one !

CHFF is just a little too far away for an evening jaunt. Thanks for posting the pics though.

Gil, tie some up so you’ll be ready for the next snook on the beach walk, just remember the socks !

I’m busy the next two Sundays. I’ll be in Paradise … aka … The Conch Republic.

How about Sunday the 21st!?? Of course this it tentative but ya gotta have a plan!!

Even though Sundays are probably the worst day to walk the beach, but only after the mid-morning crowds get there; it might be very good since there’s a full moon, even if today with the new moon may have been better except for the rains. Maybe some other gulf pirates would want to also.

Even though we talked more about tarpon flies & fishing because that’s what’s really hot right now; here’s some of the topwater flies for the August tying, the others are at http://www.lippedpopper.com/

OOPS, Sunday isn’t the 21st. It’s the 22nd. Oldest daughter’s birthday was the 14th, son in law’s is the 15th and my son’s is the 17. Since we were in the Keys this past week and didn’t get back until yesterday, guess what I’m doing on Sunday the 22nd. ha!

Either fishing or it’s your anniversary !

Nope, the 27th is my anniversary.

3 guesses & the first 2 don’t count, so guess you’ll be going postal…

We’re having the August birthday party/s tomorrow (Sunday) the 22nd. Who knows what Sunday I have off next. :-?

Just figured you’d be doing postal after reading about the truck. Too many spinys; fumes must have got into the air injectors… LOL ! That’s close to what I’ve been running on for the past week while recovering & relapseing from some G-I thing, maybe bad eggs…don’t know. Just like going to NIH for a cure back in the mid 70’s & they had nothing. Fish should be there for a few more weeks as long as the temps stay & the hurricanes stay away.
