I usually coat braid bodies with Sally Hanson anyway so it should do all right.
Water shouldn’t hurt it as it is 100% polyester. I usually coat braided bodies with sally hanson to prevent unraveling anyway.
Since it’s almost certainly exactly the same stuff you buy in a fly shop as “braided tinsel” it will hold up just as well.
