Went fishing with the San Jose Flycasters club and managed to land my first-ever Crappie on a fly. It hit a Greenie Weenie (as did 20+ other fish today).
It was a dink but still my first of that species.
A bit later in the morning, I landed my second Crappie on a fly…roughly double the size of the first one. 
The big one hit the olive beadhead wooly bugger that was tied above the Greenie Weenie. We were fishing on private ponds…great club outing!
Congratulations! Catching crappies on the fly is a great way to relax and have a good time.
Nice looking crappie Thwack. It’s cool to catch fishies on yer own flies. Makes all them hours at the vise a double pleasure. Jim
Thanks for the kind words. I’m beat today…too many laps around the big pond I guess…sure feeling it in my legs today. 
I can’t wait to get back out though.
Nice work that looks like a fun fish to catch, I have not had the plesure of catching crappie on the fly rod, but it is coming soon I can feel it.:rolleyes:
