Casting Fun

Today I went to our local park and had a perfect opportunity to practice
casting.

The trees are shedding their last leaves for winter and as I reflected on this
I thought about the casting excise from Joan Wulff’s book called picking leaves.

With each cast you pick individual leaves from the branches. Low or high
each makes for good practice.
Cool feeling when you pick one clean off and still have your yarn tuff and leader intact.

Was able to keep it up for several casts but in the end the tree ended up
with my yarn tuff… but no leader!

Anybody else do this…

that sounds nifty! my little vest-pocket park has disappeared under construction or a 7-story apartment building, so some stronger motivation is needed to get me down the street and around the corner to the local soccer field.
cannot wait for all the silly questions, most of which can be answered: “Grass Carp. Yep, they really go for those bright pink fluffy flies. Can’t get enough of them!”
the rest? “Yes, ladies fly fish too.”
