Many of you in the house of FAOL know Paul Christian, aka DrainBamaged.
Yesterday, Mothers Day, I received e-mail from him, in reply to one sent to him. He?s been in the hospital for an extended stay. He had a ?routine? MRI done on his spine, follow up to his spinal injury, and the doctors found spots on two of his vertebrae. Extensive surgery was done, core samples were taken from the bones, and biopsies run. The diagnosis is ?Primary non-Hodgkin?s Lymphoma?. The cancer was caught in early stages; radiation and chemotherapy will be needed, and quite possibly more surgery (talk of titanium cages and bone removal, and chemo placed at the sight).
Paul is already weakened by paralysis. He hasn?t been able to post on the chat line or the board as it exhausts him. He?s hoping to get ?Via Voice? for his computer; so he can have speech recognition, and let the computer do his typing.
