It is 65 sunny with winds out of the south at 25 mph. I am going to go flyfishing for gills for the first time this year.
Good luck…its suppose to be in the low 30’s with 1-5 inches of snow coming…wont be bluegill fishing for a while yet
That’s a fish every 2.5 minutes. That will be a tough rate to match for the entire year. Good start.
Look’s good, where did you find soft water?
Every thing is thawed and open around here.
I hear that Olathe is the warmest part of KS because that’s where that hot chick, Miss Betty, lives.

Congrats, Steve! Your first flyrod fish(ies) of the year!
Our local river is open, but the local lakes & ponds are still pretty much 99% ice covered…just some open water along some of the edges. The 10-day forecast is calling for one day in the 40’s…otherwise mid-30’s and temps below freezing every night…so not much deicing is going to occur for awhile yet.
Thanks for posting a pic…that open water is a welcome sight for those of us north of you!
Around here we are at that uncomfortable time of year where the ice is to soft to walk on and yet -IT IS STILL THERE!
I got out Saturday for a couple hours and caught 5 or 6 small to medium gills. Switched spots several times looking for bigger fish, but no luck. Sunday the south wind was 40+ so we took the grandgirls to the park. We put rocks in the little one’s pockets and a good time was had by all.
I definitely need to take a road trip south!!
We don’t even have to get our ice huts of the lake foe another three weeks!!
Sucking up, much? I don’t think it’s gonna help…there’s a toad spell lookin’ for you.

Betty told me she heard frog legs tasted like chicken. She was asking about side dishes, hushpuppie recipes.
Darned glad it was a toad spell and not a frog spell that she fired at me.
