Cane Blank Suppliers?

Hey all,
I’m slow, but I just found a bamboo blank supplier in my neighborhood that I’ve never seen before. What does everyone think of Gehrke bamboo blanks? And, How many of us have heard of them? They are located just south of Lewiston Idaho on the Snake River Rd. They are known for their floatant (Gink). I’ve used it for years with great faith, but now I’m wondering about their cane blanks. Anybody know anything?

Dont feel too bad I didnt know they were here either

I just looked at there website, they are in asotin across the river ans south in Washinton. kits look reasonable in price,

Mr. Gerhke passed away a couple of years ago, not sure of the status of the blank making today, but I had purchased a Blonde Bastard from him maybe 5 years ago and at the same time a blank built by Zhue of China, neither blank was of the quality you would expect, the Gerhke was the better of the two though, both were returned as unsatisfactory.
As stated previously Mike Brooks builds a terrific product, more $$ but worth every penny. There are several others that will build and sell blanks. Do your research, inexpensive is not the way to go.

Hello Joe,

I can second the praises for Mike Brooks having had three ferruled sections made for a Granger Favorite 4wt butt sectiion I had kicking around for years. Mike Brooks is really well known and I don’t see how anyone wanting a boo kit or blank could go wrong.
