Canadian Swap Box at Last

Hello all,

I am sorry for the delays, we have had some serious family problems to deal with here and I just couldn’t get to it. We are slowly getting back to normal and I will be mailing the box this week. The names I have are:

Jim Roik
Mike Adams
Ailsa McIntosh
Paul Ratcliff
John King
Lauder Smith

If any one else located in Canada wants to be added please reply and send me your address. Deadline Wednesday January 12 and it ships out Thursday. Lets keep this one going the rouds a few times. Again sorry for the delay.

Lauder

Thanks for the update. You take care of yourself and your family, they come first.

thanks Lauder, I’ll look forward to the box coming my way.
John

Hi folks,

The box of dead animal parts is off, take what you need add what you have and pass it on. There are shipping stickers addressed and included as well as a list of every one’s address in case there is a problem.

It is now off to:

  1. John King in Newfoundland

  2. Mike Adams in Calgary, do you fish Fernie area? I am there in the summer.

  3. John Sandness in Princton BC

  4. Nicholas Gait, Salt Spring Island, BC

  5. Jim Roik, Qualicum Beach, BC

  6. Ailsa McIntosh, Mission BC

  7. Paul Ratcliff, Nelson, BC

  8. Lauder Smith, Newburgh, Ontario

Have fun and keep us posted,

Lauder

No, I’ve never fished the Fernie area, and with the change to the B.C. regs this year, it’s doubtful that I will. The rivers in that area are being changed to classified waters so you not only have to buy a BC licence but also pay an additional $20 fee per day even if you are from elsewhere in Canada. Not good. It’s a very big topic of contention in Alberta at the moment.

I’ll stick with the Alberta side of the pass. Sadly, a lot more people probably will as well.

Hello out there.

Has the box made it to Newfoundland yet??

LAUDER

HI
The box is re-stuffed and on its way to Calgary after a short blizzard delay. Repaired the snowblower twice and the car once so winter is fun again.

It was great to get this-- thanks Lauder for starting it.

John

Great news, the box at least. I am glad you enjoyed playing with it. The snow on it will likely melt in Calgary. Take care,

Lauder

Yesterday it would have melted, but now it’s snowing here and getting colder by the hour. The temporary respite from winter is over. Brrr.

I await the box with great anticipation.

It just arrived here today, from Newfoundland to Alberta in a mere 11 days. Will the wonders of Canada Post ever cease?

I’ve only had the chance to glance through it quickly. Looks interesting. What is that really soft fur with the irregularly distributed guard hairs?

Anyway, I’ll have some stuff swapped and in the mail again by the weekend.

Mike-- I asked Lauder the same question-- he said he thought it was mink.

John

Hey, I am sticking with it too.
Lauder

Has anyone seen ourswap box?? It has been silent for two weeks.

Lauder

Um, I still have it. So sorry. I’ve been through the whole family being sick with me doing everything followed by me being sick for several days and just surviving cycle. Now I’m catching up. It will be back in the mail tomorrow when I make it to the post office.

Sorry about the delay. I’m normally pretty quick, this was just bad timing.

Thanks Mike,

I was afraid the gremlins at Canada Post were tying.

Lauder

Where oh where has our little box gone ???

Can any one help us it must be out there some where.

Lauder

I didn’t say anything because I have been away for the last six weeks. I checked my mail today and the box was not in it. So someone else must have it.

When it resurfaces, please push my name down to the bottom of the list. It is number 5 and could go after Paul’s name. I will then return the box to Lauder. I am travelling again and will be away until mid May. I would hate for the box to get stuck here waiting on my return.

Thanks.

Jim

Done, puting you on the end that is. I will dig out the list when I get home and try to figure out where the box should be now. Mike in Calgary had it last

Lauder

I mailed it out some time back. I just returned from a trip last night so I didn’t see the posts about it until this morning. I can’t remember who was the next person on the list that I sent it to, though. It wasn’t Ailsa, it was one of the guys in BC.

Lauder, do you have a list of who it was supposed to go to next?

yes I do have a list Mike. The difficulty is the where, I am working on it.
