Camo Furled leaders

I’ll start a separate thread so as not to overload other threads on furled leaders.

There are folks that make multi colored furled leaders…some are a sort of camo effect…some just look “good”.
I have added a single strand of gel spun line to a leader and that is rather easy…but I must say I’m not really getting how to add several strands of different colored threads.

I wonder if some one could explain that in detail.

Duckster;
Build 2 leaders at the same time. I’ve done this with Uni 8/0. Olive for one and tan for the other. Twist and furl both leaders togather
Lay up the tan (or Olive), push it down the pegs so you have room to lay up the other color. I did one for a fun leader with white and red, sort of looked like a candy cane!

Duckster,
Divide the total number of strands you’d put into your single coloured leader by 2.

Construct your first leader with half the number of threads, construct again with the second colour and make sure that instead of just having 2 leaders seperately constructed, you’ve interlocked the threads at the pegs for all strands (Basically when you’re constructing with the second colour your taking your spool through both it and the previous colour of loops at the peg stepdown points)

With the exception of the additional loops at the start and finish due to using 2 colours, the leader shouldn’t look to dissimilar to your normal single colours in construction, form or performance.
