Stretch version.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 rusty brown
tail - moose body hair
rib - x-fine wire copper
flashback - medium mylar copper
abdomen - pheasant tail
wingcase/legs - moose body hair
thorax - Arizona Synthetic dubbing pheasant tail
bead - 1/8" black

Part 1

mash barb, slide on bead, start thread; tie in rib, wrap to bend

clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) some moose body fibers; tie in, wrap to bead

tie in mylar

tie in some pheasant tail fibers

wrap to 2/3 mark; tie off/trim

pull mylar forward; tie off/trim

counterwrap rib; helicopter end, cover with thread

Part 2

leave about 5 moose body fibers on either side of the bead and pull the rest back back; tie down to 2/3 mark

dub thread/dub thorax

pull moose forward over thorax; tie off/trim

pull legs back, tie down

add a bit more dubbing, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

trim legs

Thank you Scott! I’ve always had trouble getting the legs on a PT nymph to lay back correctly. Why, or why, did I never think to just put a wee bit of dubbing between the legs and the bead head to hold the legs back? Genius!
