I found this one on youtube. Really easy to tie. Tail is a single piece of midge flash, body it 14/0 Veevus, rib is 8/0 grey thread, and the wing is Snowshoe Rabbit. I tied them up in sizes 16, 18, and 20. Close-up shot of a size 20 on the Buffalo Nickle.
It’s a great fly; I’ve tied up some in sizes 22 and 24 and have had great luck fishing at a tailrace as the water is falling. I also like the fact that it’s not too difficult to tie.
Very cool tie and they work.
Really great little fly! Thank you!
Well done Allen! I do it myself, but glad to see others tie by the half dozen. I guess it’s just time for a breather and to admire and/or adjust our work. Great job!!
Outstanding little flies!!!
Just walked away from the bench, now because of your great little flies, I will have to go back : life is good!!!
I will be fishing them this summer.
Do you treat the hair with floatant?
Chris
Didn’t treat with floatant. Only thing I have is Payette paste. Really would like to get some of the powder or something else. Ran out of tax refund money ![]()
Oh, and thanks for the comments, folks! Hopefully I’ll test these soon.
