I got a $50.00 Ebay gift card for my birthday & I have had my eyes on a Simms Freestone Mesh Vest (list $79.95) for quite awhile. Well, there was one on Ebay listed as such:

Buy it Now $55.00
Shipping $ 9.80 priority USPS
Auction ends 12/2/08
I had checked completed auctions & I was certain I could get this for the $45.00 + $9.80, or a total of $54.80, or just $4.80 out of my pocket…BUT
Ebay came up with a 10% off coupon expiring 12/1/08, but the 45 bucks was still a better buy…THEN on 12/1, I see ANOTHER message on my Ebay that there is a 30% “cashback” on PayPal which expires 12/1. Keep in mind that if I bid, I lose BOTH discounts because the auction doesn’t end until AFTER the expeiration dates! THAT did it! Here is what happened when I did the Buy it Now on 12/1/08…
Buy it Now $55.00, less the 10% Ebay coupon= $49.50
Shipping still $ 9.80
I paid via PayPal $59.30
LESS (Ebay gift card) -$50.00
Total out of pocket $ 9.30
30% cashback deposited in my PayPal account $16.50
I MAKE $7.20!!!..HA!!
