Went off in the hills fishin’ with an old friend saturday. Broke out the 4wts and had a blast with the brook trout. Woolie buggers and little brown nymphs. those little guys are real feisty! Was on Ash Creek way up in Modoc County, CA. Big ol patches of snow around, and 55 degrees out with a cloudless sky. Even had an otter come by. First rate day! Even had a sanwich an’ a cold beer apiece at lunch…'bout as good as it gits…

I was a little bit surprised that there are brookies in the mountain creeks up that way.
But they sure can make for some fun fishing - with or without a beer for lunch !!

John: Modoc Dan was fishinga bit south from Klamath Falls. Here in Oregon there is no limit on brook trout in a lot of places and catches sometimes number over 50 a day,
