I am trying to tie one of the classic wet flies - the tomah joe. The instructions are vague and make reference to using the "British method of folding a woodduck feather. I have gone through a couple of my reference books and can not find instructions for this method. I would appreciate any and all help I can get.
Thanks in advance for your response.

“The wing can be made with either matching left/right slips of barred woodduck, or taking one wider slip and folding it lengthwise (the British method).”
