I need the recipe for this fly
Try this one. It’s the fifth recipe down on the page.
Here’s a thread from FAOL about some other options.

And some more info from another forum

This should give you a good shot at putting something together!
how do you put those materials together
With thread:) Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Hummm…
Briminator?
Please see the second line in my signature.
Cole,
Start the thread about 2 eye-widths back, create a thread bump there, then tie in the bead chain.
Wrap thread back to the bend and tie in the tailing
The tailing it the fluff from the bottom of the pheasant feather. I generally
cut it off instead of pulling it off. Use the longest fibers from both sides of the feather. Bundle them together and tie them in.
Strip the rest of the feather up to where the fluff stops. Hold the tip and pull the rest of the fibers out to perpendicular from the shaft.
Wrap back to behind the eyes and tie in the pheasant feather by the tip.
Wrap back to the tail (tie in a rib, if you want one).
Dub the fly back to about an eye width behind the tie-in for the feather.
Wrap your tying thread up to just behind the bead chain.
Wrap the feather 2 to 3 turns and tie off. Be sure to pull the feather fibers back after each wrap.
Dub the thread again, and wrap it between the eyes (figure eight). Take a turn or 2 in front of the eyes, create a tapered thread head, whip finish and cement.
Good luck, have fun, and post a pic when you get one done!

Nice looking fly; thanks for posting.
Do you prefer the feather of a ringneck pheasant cock or hen? The recipe calls for hen, but I think that either fluff will work. Opinions?
Don’t matter…
What does matter is what the fish think.
All I have is the male. But I’ve also tied it with partridge, lemon wood duck, marabou, hen neck… Whatever I have on hand that will give me the right kind of soft collar ( and some that didn’t). They all look like little fish, and big fish want to eat them.
Kirk
alright thanks guys…
crazy4…you really have experimented haven’t you…:D…great stuff…well…I finally got a pheasant skin…and I cannot wait to try it out for some briminators…it is in the freezer right now though…
Kelly,
I love that fly! It was the first non-trout type fly I learned to tie. And the fishes wanted to eat it. I think the only flies I have tied more of are soft-hackles.
Kirk
Okay here are a couple, hope y’all like 'em.
Kelly,
Saw those over on TFF. Great Job! Now just add water for a whole lot of fun.
Kirk
Thanks Kirk. You are the one who got me my start in Briminators. I haven’t forgot that!
