Bounce

Recently I got an email which talked about using ‘Bounce’ anti-static dryer sheets to repel insects such as ants, mosquitos, and yellow jackets. Apparently some mail carriers use them to ward off stinging insects. It occurred to me that they might be good to keep moths out of fly tying materials. It certainly would be good to have something better than some of the toxic stuff that we now use. Has anyone had any experience with this method?

I believe it is the scented type bounce that is said to be effective as a repellent so used likely is not effective.

Basil will keep flies away (I sprinkle fresh bruised basil around our picnic areas as well as grow them near the patio); yarrow will keep some insects off the skin (I have them growing in various places in the garden so it’s easy to pick a bit and rub it on bare skin); and there are more ‘natural’ repellents. I’m not sure about wasps and yellow jackets. It’s the mosquitos that I try to avoid.
