Boo's and hisses ...

… to whom ever “compromised” my credit card information by swiping it through “their” machine, then counterfiting the card, and using it in the ATM machine.

Huzzahs to Chase for noticing I couldn’t be in Kansas City and Ontario at the same time(!) and notifying me. I have no idea how much was actually taken out of my account, but I’ve been told I won’t be held accountable for it.

Word to the wise … establish a pin number even if you will never use it! These guys found I didn’t have a pin, and created one on the spot!!

Ouch Betty,

Glad to hear the bank picked it up right away. There
are some real horror stories out there and with the
holidays coming there will be more opportunities to
get dupped. Thanks for the timely warning. Warm
regards, Jim

I am certain these people will be heading to jail. Glad to hear Chase is taking care of you. That speaks well for them.

Thank you, Betty and take care.

I purposly did not use my credit card for about 4 months so I could go to Lowell Idaho Fish-In . I used it to buy a few things in Omak Wa on the way down a few gas stations and the like finally the motel bill at 3 rivers campground. On the way past Spokane my card was refused. The guy at the gas station wouldn’t give me back my card until I phoned a number he gave me call. As soon as I told Master-card people a few identifying things about myself and why I had jumped out of character they restored my card. It seems because I was using it in a different country and spending wildly, not my usual manner they decided to check up on me. I was a little miffed at the time but soon realized that it really was a good thing.

Glad you didn’t suffer any loss Betty.

Wow Betty, that is aweful! Hope they catch the … bumbs and toss em in the pokey. I won’t be pronouncing any absolution on them if they do.

By the way, I am now in residence in Kansas, but I can’t quite get my self to say “Go Jayhawks” just yet.

Ed

Don’t you dare, PastorEd! Think purple. :stuck_out_tongue:

At different times I’ve had both my Visa cards “held” because they were being used in odd places. Both times it was me on vacation and it was a pain in the neck, but I’m glad they are watching for that sort of thing. It’s worth an occasional bother if it keeps my cards safe from outside abuse, now if they could just figure out a way to keep me from using it more than I should

PastorEd–
Welcome to Kansas. I’m a Nebraska transplant, too. It took four years and a degree from KU before I learned to say “Go Jayhawks” so be patient, it’ll come 8)

Pastor Ed…Jayhawks upset Longhorns…Now you can say …Go Jayhawks.

NO, NO, NO! That was a WILDCAT victory on Saturday. Purple Pride all the way!

Betty,
Thank you for the post. Excellent advice. I have several credit cards with no pin numbers.

Will take care of that shortly.

Thanks again.
