Hi all,
As I was attempting the left leg in the air, get close to the desk tying, one of my bobbins just kept breakng the thread - not me!! So, in frustration I went to another, which is much looser, but is palm controllable. So, I know I’ve seen somewhere how to adjust the tension. Ideas, methods, thoughts?
Thanks,
Mike
Wrap the thread around the bobbin arm a time or few.
Mike
You can just bend the legs to the tension you like. Pull them apart for less squeeze them together for more.
It might be a good idea to check that bobbin for a sharp spot in the end of the tube. If it has been dropped and nicked it will cut the thread.
I believe it was Buddy who did that nice discussion of bobbin adjustments …maybe he’ll chime in or you could search his posts.
IMHO a bobbin should be adjusted so that thread comes off smoothly with light tension. If you want more tension and are using thread that can take more, just use a little palm pressure on the spool.
OR just purchase a Bobbin with a Ceramic head and your troubles will end as far as breaking of the thread…they (Ceramic Bobbins)are as smooth as a mosquito sliding on glass
Mosquito on glass - what a sight!
