HAHAHA
I alway said they were pests

That sucks!

Be glad the little monsters don’t get a foot long & have teeth,
they’d be worse than Piranha.

I think that Pound-for-Pound, they are one of the most
ferocious predators in our waters.

Bluegills DO have teeth, albeit small ones. Ask any of my flies that they have chewed up.
In some places, they DO get a foot long, and longer!
A 6" ‘gill will attack a 6’ long scuba diver. Apparently body hair looks irresistably delicious. It must remind them of chenille… 8)

ED;
I could have gone all week, thank you very much, without you planting a horrible vision in my little used head, with that last sentence of yours!?!

We (the USA) obviously have fallen down in our education of the Japanese youth. As an aid package We need to send line hooks and worms to all youth over the age of 8 living in the area of these ponds.

Not only will this take care of the bluegill size and number problem. It will also help equal out the difference in our math scores. As the youth population of Japan will, like our youth, spend the day in school thinking of fishing and not math.

as someones signature goes

Buy a boy a fish you will feed him for a day, teach a boy to fish and he will spend hours drawing pictures of fishing when he should be doing homework (or something like that)

There are many people creating images with words.
Some are pornographers, spreading rot and filth.
A Rare Few paint pictures of great beauty and inner meaning.
Quite a few are like me and scrawl graffiti across the walls of cyberspace.

I’m e-mailing the emporer right now to offer my services!

We gave them bluegills and bass, and from them we got carp and snakeheads? Boy, are they getting the better end of this deal!

They are complaining that bass and bluegills are causing thier carp population to decline? This is bad…how?

Have they thought of canning bluegill, much like herring and sardines? Start a commercial fishery for them. Maybe they could even market it over here. I’d buy some if it wasn’t too expensive.

Thankfully they didn’t get those Ohio Salt Water gills by mistake! If they did the Emperor wouldn’t be able to skinny dip in the mote.

Note the comments about fried fish and carp tasting better than blue gill. Guess gills do not make very good sushi. :???:

On the contrary! Bluegills make excellent sushi, as do all species of bass.

Simply marinate the fillets in lemon juice for 15 minutes (keeping them cold. I keep them on a bed of ice), then roll in a kelp wrap with sushi rice, a sprig of celery, carrot, avocado, onion and bok choy. Roll tight, like a large cigarette or cigar, then cut into 1" thick rounds. Dip in a mixture of soy sauce and a small amount of wasabi.

They are outstanding.
