The wife and I had both worked just about all we wanted so about 2:30 PM we went to the neighbors lake, about 5 acres, for some R&R. I took my fly rod, as always, and she took her ultra-light spin rig. We must have caught over 100 bludgill and she caught one largemouth about 1 1/2 lbs. All were nice size fish and we kept about 30 which I fileted and will make a couple very fine meals!!! Fish were right frisky and a blast to catch! Old standby flys were used, black and olive woolly buggers and I caught a couple on a clouser while searching for bass. Anyone else hitting a good bite?
Not me Vic. I went this morning and caught a few Bluegill and a few Green Sunfish but they were all small. I also caught 3 small bass. I don’t know what to think. The good bite hasn’t started yet form me, at least. I looked at my diary and this time last year I was killin’ 'em.
Vic,
I hope to make it out this coming wekend for some gills & crappie. It’s been TOOOOO long! Glad to hear all you guys have gotten out & caught some!
Mike
