Blue Wing Olive Funnel Dun

Hi,

This is my representation of a deer hair funnel dun fly.
Comments welcome.
Thanks,
Byron

Byron,

I like the looks of the fly but for sure have never seen one like that before. Is there a reason for the deer hair to be tied forward; how do you fish it?

It is fished upside down (as shown in the photo). Prevents the hook from being seen in the water. It is a dry fly. When floating, it acts more like the natural in that any breeze and it skates like the real thing.

Neat, thanks for sharing.

Have a safe trip. I look forward to any pictures you take.

Sean

Byron,

From the photo it looks like this fly is tied symetrically around the hook.

How do you make sure it rides hook point up?

Also, any casting issues with the funnel shaped hackle facing forwards like that?

Buddy
