Blemished Blanks

Does anyone know where I can get blemished blank fly rods? I bought some a few years ago at a shop in Salt Lake City (High Country Fly Fishers-but they can’t get them anymore), finished them and gave them to my son and his friends. Started half a dozen kids fly fishing with those blanks. I’d like to get some more. Got more kids in mind.

I don’t know how much you spend for a blem but Hook & Hackle has some Forecast blanks for pretty cheap. They are on the sponsor page.

YOu might try Dorber.

I don’t recall the name of the company. It advertised in American Angler and I think was located out west. Sold ‘blems’ by the foot. Haven’t read that magazine in a long time so I don’t know if it is still in business.

Utmost Enterprises has closeout 2003 Forecast blanks, and RX7 and RX8 cosmetic blems from Batson. Plus some killer new cork deals.

When they say a “blemished” blank, what exactly does that mean? I assume it really has nothing to do with how the rod casts or fishes.

Here’s the outfit you were talking about that sells blems by the foot:

I’ve never bought from them myself as I don’t build rods, but friends have commented that they are reputable.
