Blank marking question

Is anyone getting tired of my oodles of questions yet? I do have a couiple more. First, is there an everyday item that I can use to mark my blank for guides such as a white crayon, or something like that? Also is alcohol OK to use on the blank to get rid of fingerprints, marks, tape residue?

Thanks again! Steve

I make reference marks for my rod building by wrapping a small piece of 1/2" masking tape over the area and using a marking pen (sharpie fine point) The masking tape can be easily removed or repositioned. If epoxy gets on to the tape remove it before it cures or it will be a permanent part of your project.

Alcohol will remove any residue and won’t damage the rod finish. Vinegar also works well for clean up, it will dissolve uncured epoxy as well.

Great thanks. I can get alcohol prep pads from work, that should work good for cleaning up my blank.
