Black and Pea... Any Information?

Hey Guys.

I was talking with an old friend recently and he mentioned a fly that he called a “black and pea” or something like that.
I understand it to be a snail imitation but i have been unable to find any information or pictures of this fly.

Have any of you heard of it or know where I might be able to find information, I am not able to contact my old friend at the moment.

Thanks

Terry

Hey Thanks guys.

The black and peacock may just be it.

Maybe he meant “Black eyed pea”?

Black and Peacock Spider

Hook: 16 - 14
Silk: Grey or lead coloured.
Hackle: Black Hen
Body: Bronze peacock herl dressed short and plump.

This is a very popular fly over here,
often used on stillwaters as a floating snail.

The black and peacock is definately used as a snail imitation in some places.
