Biot Is Too Short For Body Length, Volume 8 Week 28 — Fly Pattern

This is from A.K. Bests’, Advanced Fly
Tying
, chapter on Tying Yourself Out
of Trouble:

Tie the biot to the hook as you normally would.
Bring the thread forward to midshank. Begin
wrapping the biot and, when you reach midshank,
wrap both biot and thread at the same time,
beging certain that the thread is always on top
of the biot. Each turn of biot is held down by
a turn of thread. This technique will also
prevent the biot from completely unwinding
should it get cut by a trout’s tooth. And it
allows you to tie off the biot with a minimum
of turns.

Once again, use a thread that is the same color as the biot.
