Bighorn River - We need your help

The Bureau of Reclmation(BOR) is currently soliciting comments for the fall/winter flows on the Bighorn. We are working hard to get the flows increased to 2000 cfs to help the Brown trout spawn this coming winter.

If you enjoy fishing the Bighorn river and would like to help, we would request that you send a letter to Paula Holwegner at the BOR: PHOLWEGNER@gp.usbr.gov and request the BOR increased flows to 2000 cfs this fall.

You can find additional information at the Friends of the Bighorn River Website: http://www.bighornriver.org Scroll down a bit to see our response.

I wanted to let everyone know that we will see improved flows on the Bighorn River this winter. The BOR just announced the flows would increase to 1900 cfs starting in November. Not quite the 2000 cfs we need for a better spawn, but we will take the improvement.

We appreciate any comments submitted to the BOR by members of this forum.

Paul, do you know if the ethenal plant going in at Greybull, Wy. is going to pull water directly from the Big Horn in town?
