I hope you hear it here first.
Ronn Lucas Sr. has purchased Ron Reinhold’s Custom Hook business. He has been in Michigan this week learning the ropes, and leaves there for home the 20th. The equipment will be shipped to Ronn’s home in Oregon and he has plans for new hooks as well. Congratulations Ronn!

This is big news.

Ron’s hooks were the best hand made hooks available. Ron had produced the classic shapes perfectly and nobody else could touch him. His hooks were known internationally!

Ronn is a detailed perfectionist, who will carry on the tradition… what a shame if these hooks had been lost.

Ronn, I hope you have a bottle of bubbly to break on the launch of this venture. congrats!

Hey Ronn best of luck to you Reinholds hooks could’nt of found a beeter home.

COOL!!!

For any of you fortunate enough to own one of Ronn Lucas’ burnishing tools, made from a dental tool no less, you’ll know that the business is in good hands. I can’t think of anyone who could do a better job with this than Ronn, and it’s great that these hooks will continue to be made by a master.

Congratulations, Ronn - and best wishes for your continued success.

His website for the new venture is ronnlucassr.com Everything looks like it is going well and hopefully he will have great success with his venture. Way to go Ronn.

Congrats, Ron. I hope that everything goes at least as well as you expect it to.

Cheers

I am back home now and just starting to gather my thoughts about the past few days. I am very touched by your words of encouragement. It means a lot to me, really.

It will be a few weeks before everything arrives here and I get it all set up. Then back to the process to see how I do. I confess that before I went to Ron’s, I had an idea of what it takes to “make” a hook but I had no idea what it really takes to make them from scratch and produce a hook like Ron’s. Of course, I can’t tell you everything but I assure you that making a hook like Ron’s is insanely labor and process intensive. But, they are works of hook art so they must take time. Hand making hooks will not make a rich man out of the hook meister. They really are a product of love for the craft.

I will update you here and on my website as things progress.

Happy Trails!
Ronn
