Big Horns Fishing

We fished the Big Horn Mountains at Ten Sleep creek down stream from Ten Sleep Lake July 6 & 7. Fishing was good in the mornings and evenings. We used tungsten bead head midges size 14. Rust with black bead and black small wire rib. We also used a SHWAPF tied with rust thread and fox squirrel tail hair which worked real good as a dry fly late in the evening. A cow moose and calf came in on our last evening and claimed the pool we were fishing in for theirs. We wisely backed off and watched them from a distance until dark!

Hurrah for you John - you’ll carry that memory in your mental photo gallery forever!
Thanks for sharing it with us.

You’re welcome LadyFisher. I’m ready to go back right now! John

Here is a link to a picture of my son with is nice cutthroat he caught in Deer Park in the Big Horns. If this works, I’ll post a pic of the cow moose and calf that took over the fishing hole!

Here is a picture of the Moose.
