Well, I think I gobbed out and have mislabeled a spool. I have a Tioga reel w/ two spools. One spool has SA GPX WF-5-F. The other spool has SA GPX WF-6-F. How can I tell the difference? I have a micrometer used for reloading, will that help?
The micrometer might work, but another way to judge is to weigh the lines. The 6 should be a heavier grain than the 5. Using both of these methods together should give you the correct line weight. Hope this helps you a little, Dave
Oh, I have had lines weighed before at my local archery shop, their scales are preaty good for weights.
Do you have a grain scale for reloading? That would work. There is a chart all over the internet that has the AFTMA standards for line weights. Weight is measured by the first thirty feet if I remember correctly.
Guess you can get all technical and weigh the darn things, but the easiest way would be to string them on a 5wt and cast them. The 6wt line should flex the rod a little more. Cheers.
