In the sport of Fly Fishing, it is referred to as a “San Juan Worm & a Strike Indicator”.
In bait fishing, it is called something else of course.
So, why not just combine the two and be honest about it!?

In my opinion ya got …Fishin’ and Not Fishin’
Fishin’s better, and to me flyfishin’s best. Call yer worms and bobbers whatever ya want ,
I’m goin fishin …I got san juan worms and wooly worms, I even got me ona them there thousand legged worms. an I also got …bob. er, strike indicators, on account of I’m gettin blinder every year
Happy Fishin !!..ModocDan

I do not see the image. Just the word image.

I get the same thing now (broken image icon, and the word image). I saw the picture earlier though. It wasn’t showing when I posted my reply (I had viewed the thread earlier and came back to it) but thought it was a temporary thing.

I’m sorry!!??!
I don’t know, what’s, going on as the image comes right up when I bring up the thread!?!
I’ll try posting again, see what happens!?

That’s the picture I saw before. I can see the 2nd posting of it, but the first one is still not showing up. The internet, home to the weird and wacky.

The picture link in the first post is missing the word “flies.”
Sorry… You may continue…

LoL I have to thank ya for the post er reposting of that pic. Is it your pattern?
Spun deer hair I assume. What is the button made of ?
I have been known to spin up a pretty good looking trout pellet in the past . LOL
Yes, TroutBum, it’s spun deer hair!
Just something that I wanted to try, after discussing “strike indicators”, (bobbers, to me), the other day with a couple of fellow tiers.
The “button” is from an actual, red/white/plastic bobber.errrrrrrrrrrrrr I meant,“STRIKE INDICATOR FOR BAIT”, sorry!
Two, of my fishing buddies, Bishop and Henry Hoffman, both tie up a great looking “fish pellet fly”, from olive dyed Elk hair! Bishop named his, “The Organic Upright”. Dang things, WORKS, too!!
(terrible things just “happen” when ya’ get 3, retired, often bored, fly tiers together on rainy days!?)
flybinder,
TECHNIQUELY!! Your matching the Hatch??
Doug
but does it float button up?
I, of course, tied it just for fun, but dag-nab-it…if it doesn’t float, bottom up, just like it’s plastic cousin!
Yes, Doug, I’m trying to match the hatch with this set up, for when the Trouts are after “Garden Hackle”, or hitting hard on “Turf Emergers”!
