You mentioned that you are having trouble clamping your vise onto your desk. What type of vice do you have? Folks here could likely help you out on that. Possibly there are missing parts. I know that you were looking at a Danvise, and they should come with everything you need.
no i didn’t say that did i? was looking for new one. something like danvise
or hook and hackle ez vise. both are realy good vise
Oh okay cool. I looked at those two vices as well. Read good things about both, but ended up with the Danvise. I like it alot, and am quite happy with it. My only beef is that they should make the extension arm part of the basic package, not a $20 dollar add on. Using as a rotary it is not a problem, but if you turn the jaws 180 degrees to work on the bottom of the hook, the clamp handle gets in the way.
the ez is best rated for 50 danvise si best rated fro 100.

Forgive me …I guess I’m just looking for trouble…actually as I’m typing this I’ve got a 
on my face…but I’ve just gotta say this…
At 80 bucks [and they can be found for less now]…they are such a bargin…I’ll bet if with the extension they started at 100 bucks we’d still think so too…

This in my opinion is an opportunity for a company. I build widgets. I find that my widget is a much better widget if I add a 5 dollar gizmo. All subsequent widgets produced from that point get a gizmo built right in. I raise my price by 5 dollars. This is one thing that seperates good companies from great ones. IMHO
