Best Great Lakes Trib Swap

THIS SWAP IS CLOSED

O.k.

Here is a swap for the Great Lakes Tribs folks. I want to keep this on the small side with a total of 6 tyers which includes myself.

So 6 tyers in the group for a total of 12 flies (2 flies per person)

2 different patterns.

The reason for the two different patterns is to allow one to be an egg pattern. How can you fish the tribs without some egg patterns right?

The deadline to sign up will be a week from today Nov. 11th or sooner if we get filled up. So the first 5 people to sign up.

The deadline to submit and have your flies to me will be Dec. 15th. So that should give everyone a little over a month to complete and submit your patterns.

As soon as we get the tyers I will put everyone on an email list and go from there.

So how about some of your successful flies for this years steelhead season? I will pick patterns last to give you all first shot. I already have an idea for mine though.

Thanks,
Seege

Jack and SDH you are in. Jack you can tye two different colors if you like. Ive actually seen those things in the fly tying section at Gander Mountain and was going to pick some up. I was just gonna go plain but your pattern would be more attractive to me (shouldnt it be the fish?)

Thanks for signing up,
Seege

Fireman;

Hoo Boy!! My first Swap!!

I feel more like I do now than I did when I got here!

Cactus AKA “Lucky Dog (Pirate Name)”

you’ll enjoy it, no question.

seege, I would have joined this, but while I do tie and enjoy tying steelhead flies, I’m less than crazy about tying eggs. and I’ve kinda burnt myself on steelie flies over the past few years. especially since I never get to fish for them.

O.k.

We only have 5 people in the swap so tye your flies accordingly please. I would like an email from the rest of you that havent emailed yet to put you on a swap list. Im working a 48 so I am gone for 2 days. Jack is it possible to tye two different patterns. One being an egg the other maybe that caddis pattern.

Talk to you guys soon,
Seege

FIREMAN;
You got it! I had to order the eggs so while I’m wating I’ll do the Caddis style.

Guys;
The Caddis FIREMAN is talking about is the “PM Caddis”. My tying instructer says it has accounted for more than 50% of the Steelhead caught in the “Pere Marquette River” up here in Michigan. Didn’t want anyone to think it was a afternoon fly!!

Jack,

Theres only 10 of us in the swap so you dont have to send 12 flies just 10. Im still at work and havent had a chance to email everyone yet. I will do so tomorrow.

Seege

Can you guys send me your patterns so I can list them. You can either email me or post here so I can add them to your names. I will be tying the variation of the Jeffs Hex and the egg pattern.

Thanks

Bruce I hope you read this. There must be some glitches with your email address or its my computer. I cant seem to get an email out to you the rest of the other guys do work. Can you try and email Jack or one of the others for my addy. If that doesnt work then a good ole fashioned phone call will have to do.

Fly’s are done!!
