Let’s go guys!! Let’s make this happen!!!

Hey, all of you! This is a great chance to get some good stuff (Ray has a slideshow of prizes including some doozies), as well as raising money to help get JC’s memorial bench built and placed on the water, for some angler to stop at, sit on, and enjoy the water in good company. We need more entries!!!

And if nobody else enters, then Sage and I will end up getting all of the prizes! :stuck_out_tongue:

Dennis

DG said it very well. Succintly, chance to get some good stuff and provide funding for the well deserved memorial for JC.

Just think of JC and the benefits you have have derived? Time to Step Up!

P.S. Ray, this thread needs a Sticky.

I just mailed another check. I can’t believe the odds, if folks did the math, you’d be flooded with checks and the odds would change! Hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t say anything and just hog all those fantastic prizes !

Bump- to keep it in the forefront

Bumping again. Sure would like to see more comments on this?

Great, another check is in the mail.Good cause and a chance to win.
Ray

Being basically a materialist, who/what determines who wins what? AND, based on the # of respondents are we not waayyy short of the goal?

Mark

Marco, It’s a Raffle, you pick names out of a hat to see who wins what.

Marco, It’s a Raffle, you pick names out of a hat to see who wins what. Yes we are very short, less then 40 people have purchased tickets.

Less then 40!? Wow I would have thought more would have kicked in by now. I recently sent my donation. I wish I could have sent more, but at least I wanted to give something back for all that JC (and the Ladyfisher)has done to make this site a place I can come to for free information on flyfishing. I pray more will contribute. It is a very worthy cause. When Al Campbell passed away some years back we came together to make the memorial bench a reality. Let’s do the same for James Birkholm. He deserves this memorial. Friends, if you can please donate.

I second what TyroneFly said. I sent all I could afford and that was it. Folks think about what you would have had to pay to learn the things you learned here for free. I know money is tight with everyone but this is for a good cause in my opinion. With out this site I would not be doing the things or have the knowledge I have today.

sent mine today.Thanks Ray

We Americans often complain about money, and I know that many are having problems with the current economy. But—Americans tend to cr-- away money on stuff that we don’t really need, and I am as guilty as anyone. $10 is often throw away money-that’s one fast food run, for one person.

There are not many places in this country or elsewhere in the world that allows people to come together to enjoy each other’s company, get a great education in a hobby they love for free!

As a quilter, there are many websites I now can’t participate in because they charge to access their educational items. There’s one site that chages over $200 a year! It’s free here, and JC and Ladyfisher have worked hard for years, using their own money, and of course donations, to start and keep this going for everyone.

I’m actually ashamed that there has been so few tickets bought. I realize people are saying it’s Christmas time, I have a lot I have to spend. Think of buying a ticket as a gift for one of the best friends you’ve ever had, JC and Ladyfisher.

Though I don’t post often, and I’m not a real avid fisher, I have found many flyfishing folk to be great friends, and very generous. I hope that part of the slow purchase of tickets is just lack of attention on the board itself because everyone is so busy at this time of year. I know I have hardly been online at all lately because I’ve been so busy.

Jean

Well said Jean!

For those of you who have not seen Jean’s beautiful donated quilt, please take a look!

Personally, of all the donated items it would be my dream raffle winner!

Bob

A couple of slow pay accounts have finally come through, check will be in the mail Monday a.m. … hope it isn’t too late. When is the drawing or will it be when the ticket are sold out??

It’s not too late, I’ll keep selling tickets as long as there is still interest or we hit 500 tickets sold.

Ten dollar check in the mail, tomorrow.
